Alec Alenstein
Chief Operating Officer
Alec Alenstein is the chief operating officer and director of business development for Eurasia Group, as well as a member of the management committee. He manages the firm's growth, profitability, and operational efficiency, as well as the ongoing expansion of Eurasia Group's political risk services for financial institutions, multinational corporations, and governments. In addition, he oversees several strategic client relationships.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group in 2003, Alec spent nine years with Deutsche Bank Securities and its predecessor companies. Alec was a vice president of investment banking in New York, where he specialized in the marketing and execution of merger advisory transactions as well as equity and debt financing assignments for financial institutions. During his tenure, Alec worked in a similar capacity in Deutsche Bank's London office advising financial institutions in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. Prior to joining investment banking, Alec worked in the risk management department of Bankers Trust Company, where he analyzed the bank's aggregate credit and counterparty exposures on a global basis.
Alec is a board member of EmPower, a foundation that makes grants to projects in emerging markets that focus on improving the prospects of children and women in these countries.
Alec received his bachelor's degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
