Wolfango Piccoli

Wolfango Piccoli is a director in the Europe practice. His focus is on Turkish politics, regional security, EU accession, and the Islamic-secular political balance. He has presented numerous conference papers and co-authored a book entitled Turkey at the Crossroads, which was later translated and published in Turkish. He has also published articles in Security Dialogue, the Iranian Journal of International Affairs, and Limes. Wolfango received his bachelor's degree at the University of Bologna and his PhD at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He also spent several years living and studying in Turkey. He speaks Italian and Turkish.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Wolfango was an assistant professor in the department of international politics at the University of Wales, where he taught courses on international security and intelligence. Previously, he was an economic and social research council (ESRC) post-doctoral fellow at the same university.
