Alexa Parks is an associate in Eurasia Group's Middle East and North Africa practice, focusing on coverage of political, security, and economic developments in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations. Before joining Eurasia Group, she worked for the US State Department, concentrating on the US-Saudi bilateral relationship, especially cooperation on security and infrastructure protection. Before that, Alexa held positions at economic research and consultancy firms, covering FDI in frontier economies. She spent seven years living and working in the GCC region, five of those in Riyadh.
Alexa holds a master's degree in politics and Arabic from the University of Edinburgh, where she focused on Middle Eastern politics, particularly the foreign policies of GCC countries. She studied Arabic at schools in Oman and Jordan.
