Graeme Thompson is a senior analyst with Eurasia Group's Global Macro-Geopolitics practice, focusing on issues of globalization, international security, and great power competition. He also has expertise in UK, Canadian, and Australian politics, trade, and foreign policy.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Graeme was an Ernest May Fellow in History and Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Previously, he served as a policy analyst and speechwriter in the foreign policy planning division at Global Affairs Canada and held visiting fellowships at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the University of Toronto.
Graeme holds a doctorate in global and imperial history from the University of Oxford, a master's degree in international relations from the London School of Economics, and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Western Ontario. A long-suffering Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan, he is always optimistic about next year.
