Issei Morita is a director for Eurasia Group in Tokyo, where he manages business development and client service activities directed at financial institutions. He works with a wide range of Japan-based investors and business decision-makers, facilitating their understanding of geopolitical risk and its effects on financial operations.
Issei has more than 15 years of experience managing cross-border client relationships and fixed-income solutions in asset management. At Schroders, he worked with institutional clients and stakeholders across Asia, Europe, and the US and pioneered a new role for the firm in London and New York. Before that, Issei was a reporter at Bloomberg LP, publishing articles and appearing on Bloomberg TV. Over the course of his career, he has lived in Tokyo, London, and New York.
As a Sloan Fellow, Issei completed a master's degree at the London Business School, focusing on strategy, leadership, and globalization. He earned a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University as a Grew Bancroft scholar and a Freeman scholar, studying economics, government, history, and social theory. Raised near an active volcano in the countryside, Issei loves visiting hot springs. Also, he loves Jerez de la Frontera, a city in southern Spain where he immerses himself in sherry wine tastings, and the Italian city Alba, where he digs for white truffles.
