Nicholas Consonery Nicholas Consonery is an analyst in the Asia practice, specializing in Chinese politics and economic policies. In addition to covering US-China issues, currency, and property sector policies, Nicholas takes the lead on a range of China-related consulting work for Eurasia Group, including conducting extensive reviews of corporate government affairs programs. He is a regular contributor to Fox Business News and Bloomberg TV, has published articles on China for ForeignPolicy.com, and his research is frequently cited by mainstream media publications, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

Nicholas holds a master's degree in Asian studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University as well as a bachelor's degree in political science and Asian studies from Furman University. He received a David Boren Graduate Fellowship to attend Fudan University in Shanghai, where he studied Chinese public policy and economics. He has also studied Chinese language at the Shanghai Foreign Languages School and the East China Normal University.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group in May 2008, Nicholas worked as a political and security risk consultant in Washington, DC. Previously, he was a journalist at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and before that worked with a private equity firm in Tianjin, China. During graduate school he also worked with the Foreign Commercial Service at the US Consulate in Shanghai.
