Nicholas Consonery

Senior Analyst

Nicholas Consonery Nicholas Consonery is a senior analyst in the Asia practice, specializing in politics and economic policies in China and Taiwan. Nicholas also takes the lead on a range of China-related corporate work for Eurasia Group, including conducting extensive reviews of government affairs programs. He is a regular contributor to Bloomberg News, CNBC, and Fox Business, and his research is frequently cited by mainstream media publications, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Nicholas holds a master's degree in Asian studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University as well as a bachelor's degree in political science and Asian studies from Furman University. He received a David Boren Graduate Fellowship to attend Fudan University in Shanghai, where he studied Chinese public policy and economics.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group in May 2008, Nicholas worked as a political and security risk analyst in Washington, DC. Previously, he was a journalist at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and before that worked with a private equity firm in Tianjin, China. During graduate school he also worked with the Foreign Commercial Service at the US Consulate in Shanghai.
