Mujtaba Rahman focuses on European political economy. In addition to leading Eurasia Group's Europe practice, Mujtaba has primary responsibility for all aspects of EU/eurozone coverage, as well as leading country coverage on Greece, Cyprus, and the UK.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Mujtaba worked at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, and at the UK Treasury. He is an adjunct professor at New York University's Stern Business School and teaches political risk to graduate students at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. In addition, Mujtaba regularly appears in the media, providing commentary on European affairs for publications including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and television appearances on the BBC, Bloomberg, and CNBC.
Mujtaba holds an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University and an MA in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He speaks French and Urdu.
